#9 Harambe (-). Many would say that the death of the Cincinnati Zoo’s famed gorilla would be more of a good thing than bad, considering it had a human child in it’s possession. However, the whole event in it’s entirety is a downside to 2016. Back on May 28th 2016, a young boy fell into the primate’s enclosure. 34bee4da00000578-3615783-zoo_director_thane_maynard_supported_the_response_team_s_decisio-a-20_1464591378551Now, some videos show gorilla protecting the boy. Millions took to facebook, twitter, iFunny, reddit and other social media sites, creating memes that idolized the animal, and caused a media upstir. On July 26th, 2016 Hillary Clinton became the first woman in U.S. history to be nominated for president by a major U.S. presidential party. Even though she would go on to lose to Donald Trump in November, Hillary left her mark on the political process. Many non-Hillary supporters believe that she won the nomination unjustly, but that is a matter of speculation. Through many health issues, and questionable moves, Hillary Clinton stumbles her way onto our countdown at number 7.

#6  David Bowie & Alan Rickman. (-) It is said that celebrity deaths come in 3’s. Accompanied by the death of Rene Angelil (Husband of Celine Dion), the deaths of Alan Alan RickmanRickman and David Bowie stunned the world. Days apart from each other, the loss of the entertainment icon’s touched the hearts of millions. Bowie, January 10th, finally lost his 18 month battle with cancer.
